Common questions.

How do I choose between Snapshot and Pro?+

Snapshot gives you your rate positions — the P50 and your ProScore across your panel — refreshed monthly. Pro adds the full rate corridor (P10–P90), subgroup medians, intelligence modules, and downloadable Decision Kits for contract reviews. If you actively evaluate panel decisions or contract terms, Pro carries the data you need for that analysis.

What is the founders cohort offer?+

When subscriptions open, the first 50 Pro annual subscribers will get 50% off forever — that discounted price locks at renewal instead of reverting to list. This applies to Pro annual only — not monthly, not Snapshot. Join the waitlist to be notified when subscriptions open.

How accurate is this data?+

Rates come from the Transparency in Coverage machine-readable files payers are federally required to publish under 45 CFR § 147.210. Every figure carries a confidence rating (High / Moderate / Sparse) and a data-vintage timestamp. See the methodology page for filtering criteria and scope caveats.

What is your refund policy?+

Pro annual subscriptions include a 14-day money-back guarantee from the first charge. Monthly subscriptions are not eligible for refunds. Details at /refund-policy.

Is RateScope legal for my practice to use?+

RateScope is informational benchmark data — a unilateral analytics product. The data itself comes from federally mandated Transparency in Coverage files insurers are required to publish publicly. Any decision a practice makes in response — which panels to join or leave, how to approach a contract conversation, how to set private-pay rates — is that practice's own independent business decision. RateScope does not negotiate on your behalf, does not organize collective action, and does not facilitate agreements among practices. Full acceptable-use terms live at /legal/appropriate-use.

Rate data sourced from CMS-mandated Transparency in Coverage machine-readable files, publicly disclosed pursuant to 45 CFR § 147.210.

RateScope is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, and Aetna. Payer names are used only to identify the source of the underlying rate data.

Benchmarks reflect CMS-required payer disclosures at the time of the most recent data refresh. Actual contract rates may vary. Every report states its data vintage on the cover page.

See the methodology page for filtering criteria, sample sizes, and scope caveats.

RateScope is sold for professional business purposes. Subscribers should review their payer contracts for any restrictions on the use of external benchmarking data.
